Thyristor Capacitor Switching Module

The Thyristor Capacitor Switching Module is designed for real-time power factor correction. It consists of two main components: the Dynamic Switching Module (DSM), which is an electronic circuit housed in a DIN rail mount enclosure, and the Thyristor Power Stack (TPS), consisting of two thyristors mounted on a suitable heat sink. The DSM is a microcontroller-based design responsible for generating trigger pulses to control the TPS, ensuring zero voltage switching of the thyristors for smooth and transient-free operation. While the DSM remains consistent across all thyristor capacitor switching modules, the TPS varies according to the rated KVAr of the capacitor bank. These components are interconnected through simple wiring.
